About Kasia

I'm Kasia. I am a flawed human being wh osoughts to learn to understand this very complicated world and sought to love my imperfections as an act of rebellion against capitalism and patriarchy.

And so, as I learn I want to educate others. You can find me speaking about everything, from global politics, media and feminism to East Asia, art and travelling.

I grew up in Poland and although I was always curious about the world, I was ignorant and clueless. When I was a teenager, I thought it is a sign of patriotism to hate Germany (because of our history), and simultaneously believed that the "Western" countries are superior to the rest of the world. But when at the age of 19 I migrated to England, at 20 started backpacking and volunteering abroad, and at 23 went to university - I realised that the world is much different than what we are taught at school and from media. People all over the world are incredibly similar in their goals, dreams and desires. Cultures differ significantly, making this world beautiful and interesting, but unfortunately this fact gets exploited to divide and conquer. This is an old colonial playbook that continues to be used by elites to stay in power and exploit resources.

It was through the mixture of things I experienced in life that I learnt to question the status quo, be sceptical of divisive rhetorics and to appreciate diversity and different cultures. I attended universities in the UK, Finland and South Korea. I lived in rural Nepal, Philippines and Rwanda. I travelled to 30 countries on four continents. I lived with an English-Irish family for a year, and got to know people from all areas of the world from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, through Rwanda, Congo and Algeria, to Nepal, China, Korea and Malaysia. And I learnt that the country, skin colour and culture does not make one civilised or not. There are horrible people all over the world, but the vast majority is kind, helpful and just wants to lead a good life.

Just like I, coming from a poor family in Poland, went to England in search of better opportunities and higher pay, the same way people migrate all over the world in search for a better life. And I never understood why we make the distinction, why we choose to hate ach other while we all strive for the same - apart from the few psychopathic people who would do anything for the power and wealth.

Living through the livestreamed genocides, ecological collapse, Trump's presidency, hypocrisy of our governments, while watching the illusion of the international order and 'Western values' collapse I became angry. Very angry about how a handful of world's most powerful individuals run this world to complete collapse and humanitarian disaster. And I became disappointed that at the same time we observe ordinary people falling for nazi-style propaganda and enabling for this self-destructing system to continue through their silence. I became furious to the point, that I decided to step out of my comfort zone and crate this space to share my knowledge, experiences and limited, but still valuable insights about the world.

With all that I want to be the voice of opposition, together with many incredible activists who have done the same for much longer.
